Ad hoc: Deutsche Post to purchase further stake in DHL from Lufthansa Cargo
07/05/2002Deutsche Post AG, which owns already 50,64% in DHL, is set to take another 25% from Lufthansa Cargo. The deal has been approved by the supervisory board of Deutsche Post AG in its meeting today. The contract has yet to be concluded and approved by anti trust agencies. Deutsche Post has to pay € 610 Mio (€ 550 Mio including a possible future payment of € 60 Mio under a debtor warrant agreement). Including this purchase, Deutsche Post owns more than 75% with the objective to increase the stake in DHL to 100% in due course.
